Meetings and Events
* Come one, come all: A picnic will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2000, in Myers Park at or near the picnic tables overlooking Wade Wehunt Pool. For anyone not familiar with the area, travelling on Monroe Street from the north or south, turn east on Gaines Street. The picnic tables are just past where East Gaines Street ends near the Florida Department of Transportation and the new Korean War Monument in Cascades Park. Although East Gaines Street ends there, Myers Park Drive continues on and curves off to the right (south). The pool and picnic tables are to the left as you complete the curve to the south. Coming down Old St. Augustine/Lafayette from the east, you can either turn left at Myers Park Drive and travel around it almost in a circle, to the picnic area at its far end; or you can continue past Myers Park Drive and past Myers Park Lane (a dead end street), turn left at the red light on Suwannee Street and left again onto Myers Park Drive near the picnic tables.
You are asked to bring a covered dish. The Myers Park Neighborhood Association will bring a limited quantity of fried chicken and one of our members will bring sodas and/or tea.
